Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students with special educational needs in English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Create individualised lesson plans based on students' learning needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student achievements

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the UK education system
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in assessment and evaluation techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience using assistive technology in teaching

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in a classroom or educational setting
  • May require travel to students' homes or other locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
