Job Duties:
The English and Maths GCSE SEMH Tutor will be responsible for providing one-on-one tutoring in English and Maths subjects to students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Duties include developing individualised lesson plans, assessing students' progress, and adjusting teaching methods to meet the unique learning styles of each student.
Required Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in Education or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs
- Knowledge of the GCSE curriculum for English and Maths
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Experience:
Previous experience working as a tutor or teacher, particularly with students with SEMH needs
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies for supporting students with these needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to tailor teaching methods to individual student requirements
- Organisational skills and the ability to track and report on student progress
- Additional training in special education or SEMH support
Working Conditions:
This position is part-time and temporary, requiring flexibility in scheduling to accommodate students' needs. The tutor will work closely with students in a one-on-one setting, either in-person (learners homes) or virtually, depending on the circumstances.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
