Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Teacher to join a thriving Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Lambeth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced English teacher with a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs, including autism (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to students with SEN.

  • Adapt the curriculum to meet individual EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) targets.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider SEN team.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and carers.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching English.

  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, TEACCH is desirable but not essential).

  • Resilience, patience, and a nurturing approach to teaching.

  • Experience in an SEN setting (ASD, MLD, SLD, or SEMH) is highly desirable.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
