Job Title: Food Technology Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £162- £251 a day, depending on experience
About the Role
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our secondary school in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, nutrition, and teaching, and will play a key role in inspiring and engaging students to develop their skills in cooking, food science, and nutrition. You will help students build practical skills and knowledge that will serve them in both their education and future careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that cater to students’ individual learning needs
- Teach students about food preparation, safety, nutrition, and the science of food
- Encourage students to experiment, problem-solve, and develop creative culinary skills
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning
- Manage classroom resources, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all students
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events, such as cooking clubs or competitions
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A strong background in Food Technology, with knowledge of nutrition, food preparation, and safe working practices
- Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable, but NQTs are encouraged to apply
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passion for inspiring students to develop their culinary and practical skills
- Ability to engage students in practical learning and to build confidence in their abilities
- A creative and resourceful approach to teaching
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
- Provide at least two professional employment references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
