Location: Swansea, Wales
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (Flexible)
Salary: £166.32 M2 Scale

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Welsh Teacher to join our dynamic team in the Swansea area. Whether you are an experienced educator or an inspiring new teacher, we welcome applications from individuals who are committed to promoting the Welsh language and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Welsh to students at various levels (Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2)
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and resources to support the language acquisition of students
  • Support students’ progression through regular assessments, feedback, and development
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and initiatives promoting the Welsh language and culture

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
  • Fluent Welsh speaker, with the ability to teach through the medium of Welsh
  • Passion for language teaching and commitment to supporting students’ success
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Knowledge of the curriculum and teaching strategies

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching Welsh at Primary School Level (though newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply)
  • Familiarity with the Welsh Baccalaureate and other Welsh language initiatives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
