Job description
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in the Dulwich area. This fixed-term role involves providing tailored support to a disabled child, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.
Role Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to a disabled student, adapting to their individual needs.

Assist with personal care and mobility requirements, if necessary.

Support classroom learning under the direction of the teacher, ensuring inclusion and engagement.

Help with social integration and emotional well-being during school activities.

Foster independence and confidence in the student while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Previous experience as a TA, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or in a similar role, ideally with SEND experience.

Understanding of disabilities (physical, learning, or sensory) and strategies to support inclusion.

Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning.

Strong communication skills to work with students, staff, and parents.
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
