Early Years Teaching Assistant
Position: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Salary:
- Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): £22,070
- Actual Annual Salary (Approx. Gross): £18,704
Location: Launceston
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Job share possible)
Working Weeks: 38 weeks per year
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate, caring, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team at a pre-school in Launceston. This permanent role will see you working alongside the Pre-School/Nursery Manager to ensure the highest standards of care, education, and development for young children.
You will assist in planning and delivering engaging activities, supporting children's learning, observing their progress, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young learners in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pre-School/Nursery Manager in planning and delivering engaging activities.
- Support group work and assist in individual learning needs.
- Observe and assess children’s development, keeping records of their progress.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children’s wellbeing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Level 2 standard).
- Skills:
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
- Training:
- Team Teach trained is desirable but not essential.
- DBS:
- An up-to-date DBS check registered on the update service is required.
- Personal Qualities:
- A nurturing, enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for early years education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
