Position: 1-1 Teaching Assistant (Early Years)
Location: Darlington, North East England
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team in Darlington. This role will involve supporting a child within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who requires additional support with their learning and development. As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the child, providing tailored support to help them thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support to a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with specific learning needs.
  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities, ensuring the child’s academic and personal development.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing environment to build the child’s confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other professionals to implement specific learning strategies and plans.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, ensuring that any necessary adjustments are made to support the child’s development.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure the child can fully participate in classroom activities and school life.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • A caring and patient attitude, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of the child.
  • Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and experience supporting children with learning difficulties would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
