Seeking an Experienced Biology Teacher

Location: Cardiff
Salary: Pay to scale, dependent on experience
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join or, for the right candidate, lead the Science Department of one of our partner schools, starting in January 2025. This role is perfect for an experienced teacher who is passionate about biology and dedicated to delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing tailored support to help all students achieve their potential.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum, resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with other members of the department to ensure consistency and quality across the subject.

Desirable:

  • Management experience: While not essential, experience in a leadership or management role within a department would be an advantage. There may be future opportunities for departmental or pastoral leadership for the right candidate.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Biology or a closely related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a proven track record of success in secondary education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to keeping up-to-date with new developments in science education.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
