ESOL Tutor
Leicester
Teaching Personnel are looking for an ESOL tutor to work with a Year 11 Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker who has recently moved to the UK (Leicester area). She speaks Arabic, Sudanese and Kama tribal language.
She has very limited English skills, so will require someone to help her develop her English language and Cultural Awareness of living in the UK. The Virtual School are hoping to secure her a school placement so we are looking for a tutor until approximately October half term.
We are looking for a tutor to support her initially for 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday with a view to increasing this if she can cope with this.
The ideal tutor for this will be:
- CELTA trained or equivalent
- English specialist teachers with experience supporting those with EAL and ESOL
- Arabic, or Sudanese speaker (desirable but not essential)
- Confident to plan and deliver creative and innovative teaching resources, face to face
- Able to build a positive relationship and act as a positive role model for this young person
- Able to produce detailed feedback forms on a weekly basis to the Local Authority
- Able to liaise with care staff, Local Authority and Teaching Personnel staff to review the progress and educational plans for this young person
- Able to deal with safeguarding concerns following the correct procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
