Job Title: English Tutor with SEN Experience

Location: South East England, Berkshire, Reading

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised lesson plans to cater to the specific learning requirements of each student
  • Assist students in improving their English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Strong knowledge of the English language curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching English

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in using assistive technology to support students with SEN

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
