English Tutor
Job description
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced English Tutor to work with KS3 and KS4 students in alternative provision settings (community hubs or in the home).
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach English lessons that engage and support students.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of each student.
- Monitor students' progress and provide feedback using TP Tutors bespoke reporting platform.
- Build positive relationships with students and support their academic and personal growth.
- Work with other staff to help students overcome challenges.
Key Requirements:
- Experience teaching English to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, using the National Curriculum.
- Ability to support students with different learning needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate students.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE) or the equivalent experience.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for teaching.
Desirable:
- Experience working in alternative provision or with students facing additional challenges.
- Knowledge of how to manage behaviour effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
