English Teacher – Secondary School – Tameside
Location: Tameside
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
A vibrant, inclusive secondary school in Tameside is seeking a talented and dedicated English Teacher for a full-time role beginning September 2025. The school is committed to creativity and raising aspirations, with a supportive English department delivering excellent outcomes year on year.
Role Responsibilities:

Plan and teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4, following the AQA curriculum.

Use dynamic teaching methods and engaging texts to bring literature and language skills to life.

Track pupil progress rigorously, using data to inform lesson planning and intervention.

Inspire a love for reading and critical thinking through engaging classroom activities and enrichment.

Participate in cross-curricular literacy initiatives and after-school clubs (e.g., creative writing, debating).
Candidate Profile:
-
QTS and a relevant degree in English or a related subject.

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language, literature, and communication.

Ability to differentiate effectively and support students with varying needs.

Excellent classroom management and a reflective teaching approach.
-
Willingness to engage in ongoing CPD and curriculum development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
