English Teacher – Secondary School – Tameside

Location: Tameside
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

A vibrant, inclusive secondary school in Tameside is seeking a talented and dedicated English Teacher for a full-time role beginning September 2025. The school is committed to creativity and raising aspirations, with a supportive English department delivering excellent outcomes year on year.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4, following the AQA curriculum.

  • Use dynamic teaching methods and engaging texts to bring literature and language skills to life.

  • Track pupil progress rigorously, using data to inform lesson planning and intervention.

  • Inspire a love for reading and critical thinking through engaging classroom activities and enrichment.

  • Participate in cross-curricular literacy initiatives and after-school clubs (e.g., creative writing, debating).

Candidate Profile:

  • QTS and a relevant degree in English or a related subject.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language, literature, and communication.

  • Ability to differentiate effectively and support students with varying needs.

  • Excellent classroom management and a reflective teaching approach.

  • Willingness to engage in ongoing CPD and curriculum development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
