English Teacher – Stockport
A well-established secondary school in Stockport is looking for a passionate English Teacher to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students through literature and language while supporting them in achieving academic success.
Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that engage students in reading, writing, and spoken language development. You will work closely with the English department to ensure students reach their full potential, whether through creative writing, textual analysis, or exam preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach a range of literature, including Shakespeare, modern novels, and poetry.
- Develop students’ analytical and writing skills to prepare them for GCSE exams.
- Use innovative teaching methods to inspire a love for reading and critical thinking.
- Track and assess student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and enhance learning.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English or a related subject.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and GCSE exam requirements.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
- A passion for literature and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum, in line with the teacher pay scale.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
