English Teacher – Secondary School (Manchester)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and develop their skills in English language and literature.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a talented and creative English Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. The successful candidate will join a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to achieving excellent outcomes for students. You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, delivering the national curriculum, and fostering a love for literature and language among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Teach both English Language and English Literature to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and progress.
  • Assess, mark, and monitor student progress, providing tailored feedback to support improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with varying levels of ability.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and teaching methods.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • A passion for literature and language, with the ability to instil this in students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
