Teacher of English

Full time, maternity cover, Leyland

 

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, innovative, and research-informed Teacher of English. As a core subject, English is at the cornerstone of school improvement and ensuring excellent outcomes and progression for young people. The successful applicant will have strong subject knowledge and be passionate about sharing their love of English.

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons to students
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant degree in English or related field
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum

Education

Bachelor's degree in English or related field

Experience

Prior experience teaching English at secondary level

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Strong classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience using technology in the classroom

Working Conditions

The role involves working in a school setting, following the school term calendar. Some additional hours may be required for lesson planning and assessment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
