Job Opportunity: Full-Time English Teacher at a Secondary School in East Lancashire

Position: Full-Time English Teacher
Location: East Lancashire
Contract Type: Long-Term, maternity cover
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role: We are seeking a talented English teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, helping them to develop strong literacy skills, a love for literature, and excellent exam results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their best in both written and spoken English
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities and collaboration with colleagues
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English at secondary level (Key Stage 3 & 4)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
- A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
