Permanent English Teacher – Secondary School (Glossop)
Location: Glossop
Start Date: April 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Glossop. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to make a real impact in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English language and literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that inspire students to develop their literacy skills.
  • Foster a love of reading and writing while ensuring students reach their full academic potential.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the academic success and well-being of students.
  • Contribute to the school's extra-curricular activities, including English clubs or initiatives.
  • Participate in department meetings, parent evenings, and school events.

Requirements:

  • A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
  • Passionate about teaching and able to inspire students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students is preferred, though NQTs are encouraged to apply.
  • Commitment to contributing positively to the school's ethos and values.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
