An exceptional opportunity has arisen at a thriving all-through independent school in Fareham for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their committed teaching staff. The school are seeking a fully qualified teacher who holds QTS and has at least 6 months of teaching experience in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English and contributing to the continued academic excellence of the school. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking English department committed to fostering a love of literature and language in all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in accordance with the departmental schemes of work and school policies.

Create detailed lesson plans that cater to a range of learning abilities and styles.

Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management to ensure a focused and respectful learning environment.

Set and mark homework regularly, in line with the school’s published timetable, providing constructive feedback to support pupil progress.

Monitor and assess pupil's academic development, recording and reporting progress in a timely and effective manner.

Contribute to the development of English curriculum resources and schemes of work.

Engage fully in staff meetings, parent's evenings, CPD sessions, and wider school activities.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the academic and pastoral welfare of all students.

Uphold the values and ethos of the school, maintaining professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Candidate Requirements:
-
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Minimum of 6 months UK classroom experience, ideally in a similar school setting.

Strong subject knowledge of English language and literature at KS3 and KS4.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
-
A proactive and reflective teaching style with a genuine enthusiasm for English education.

A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the life of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
