English Teacher – Full-Time
Location: Secondary School in Fareham
Start Date: After February Half Term
Contract Type: Full-Time
A secondary school in Fareham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher to join their team full-time after the February half-term. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for English literature and language. The ideal candidate will have at least six months of teaching experience in UK schools and be confident in planning and delivering high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners. You will be responsible for marking and assessing students' work, ensuring they make progress and achieve their full potential. The school is committed to providing a supportive environment where teachers can develop professionally while making a meaningful impact on student's education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that align with the national curriculum.
- Assess, mark, and provide feedback on students' work to track progress and support development.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring all pupils are challenged and supported.
- Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and engagement, following the school’s behaviour policies.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.
- Develop students' analytical, creative, and communication skills through effective teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department and across the school.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and parent's evenings as required.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, such as school trips, clubs, or literacy interventions, to enhance student's learning experience.
Expectations:
- A minimum of six month's experience teaching in UK schools, ideally within a secondary setting.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and a passion for teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents effectively.
- Ability to plan and deliver well-structured lessons that cater to different learning styles.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
