Job Advertisement: Teacher of English – Secondary School in Darwen

Location: Darwen, Lancashire

Start Date: Tuesday 22nd April 2025

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Are you a passionate and dedicated English Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? A well-respected secondary school in Darwen is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher to join their team after the Easter holidays. This role is initially temporary with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons
  • Assessing and tracking student progress
  • Contributing to the wider school community and extracurricular activities

The Ideal Candidate:

✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
✅ Experience teaching English at secondary level
✅ Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language
✅ Excellent classroom management skills
✅ Ability to inspire and motivate students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
