English Teacher – Cardiff
Full time and fixed term initially (up to 12 months)
Employment commencing as soon as possible
Paid to scale (M2 min.) and in line with teaching responsibilities undertaken
Teaching Personnel are seeking a teacher of English on behalf of one of our partner schools in Cardiff. The school offer excellent support to staff, with opportunities for professional development and continual well-being support. An inclusive school that takes pride in it’s whole-school values. The school provides education to over 1000 pupils in the heart of Cardiff, with staff parking on site and facilities for teaching a full curriculum.
The role will require you to plan, prepare and deliver lessons in accordance with the schemes of work, collaborating with colleagues to create and develop learning and assessment materials. The need for strong behaviour management skills is essential whilst following school policies, including the administration of rewards.
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in relevant field of study
- Understanding of curriculum requirements for English
- Experience teaching to KS4 (GCSE) level
- Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
- A range of pedagogical strategies for differentiation and assessment methods
Whilst not essential, the successful candidate would desirably have:
- Experience delivering English via the WJEC specification
- Proven track record or pupil achievement at KS3, 4 & 5
- Pastoral experience in the form of form tutor/ (deputy) head of year or house

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
