English Teacher – Permanent Role in Braintree

A well-regarded secondary school in Braintree is seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Develop students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills, fostering a passion for literature and language
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing targeted interventions where necessary
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to develop high-quality schemes of work and share best teaching practices
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement in line with school policies
  • Support students beyond the classroom by contributing to extracurricular activities such as English clubs, debating societies, or school productions

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • A degree in English or a related subject
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students
  • A passion for literature, language, and education, with a commitment to raising student attainment
