Fully Qualified English Teachers Required – Long-Term Supply
Portsmouth & Fareham Areas
Are you a passionate and fully qualified English teacher looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity? A number of secondary schools in the Portsmouth and Fareham areas are seeking dedicated English teachers to join their teams from February half term. This role is initially on a long-term supply basis, with the potential for extension beyond the initial period.
The Role
As an English teacher, you will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills while fostering a love for literature and language. You will play a key role in the academic journey of students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of some Key Stage 5 teaching depending on the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles, following the National Curriculum.
- Assessment and Progress: Plan and deliver assessments to track and support student progress effectively.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and focused learning environment, ensuring high standards of behaviour and engagement.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members, contributing to department planning and initiatives.
- Support and Development: Provide guidance and encouragement to all students, supporting their academic and personal growth.
Expectations
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have a degree in English or a related field.
- Have experience teaching English at secondary level (Key Stages 3 and 4; Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).
- Be committed to delivering high-quality lessons and supporting students of all abilities.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Be adaptable, proactive, and a positive team player.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
