Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? Our client, a well-established school in Barnstaple, is seeking a dedicated Education Support Worker to join their team.
About the Client:
Our client is an independent specialist school with sites in Barnstaple and Bideford, providing tailored education for students aged 7 to 19. Since opening in 2015, the school has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality education and was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in October 2022. The school offers a nurturing environment with small group and individualised learning, placing a strong emphasis on social and emotional development. In addition to full-time education for its students, the school also provides outreach and intervention services to support young people beyond the classroom.
Role Details:
As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning and personal development. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, encouraging academic progress and personal growth.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individual learning plans tailored to students’ needs.
- Support students with additional needs to ensure they can access education effectively.
- Encourage engagement in school activities and help build students' confidence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an education or support role is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting young people.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability to different learning needs and environments.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
