Design and Technology Teacher – Scarborough
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Scarborough
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)
Salary: Paid to scale 

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Scarborough from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to teach a subject that combines creativity, problem-solving and hands-on learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with specialisms in Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering being particularly desirable. You will play a key role in helping students develop practical skills and an understanding of real-world applications of design and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and innovative DT lessons

  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs

  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment

  • Support the wider life of the school through participation in department and whole-school activities

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Specialism in DT subjects such as Product Design, Engineering, or Resistant Materials

  • A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students of all abilities

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

This role would suit an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher looking to start their career in a supportive and well-resourced school.
