Lead & Inspire in English Education

Are you a highly motivated and experienced English teacher ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We are looking for a Director of Learning: English to drive exceptional standards in teaching and learning across KS3, KS4, and Post-16.

The Role

As Director of Learning: English, you will:

  • Lead the English department, ensuring outstanding teaching and learning across all key stages
  • Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
  • Monitor and enhance student progress, setting ambitious achievement targets
  • Manage and deploy resources effectively, including staffing and budgets
  • Provide strategic direction, leading self-evaluation and improvement planning
  • Support and mentor staff, ensuring high-quality performance across the team
  • Embed innovative assessment and learning strategies to raise attainment
  • Act as a role model, delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring both students and colleagues
