Are you a passionate and skilled Design Technology & Catering Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? A secondary school in Gosport is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join their team and inspire the next generation of designers, engineers, and chefs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative teacher who can deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Design & Technology and Catering, equipping students with practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge. The ideal candidate will be confident in teaching KS3 and KS4, delivering high-quality lessons across a variety of disciplines, including:
- Food & Nutrition
- Graphics
- Resistant Materials
- Systems & Control
- Textiles Technology
By fostering creativity, problem-solving, and technical proficiency, you will empower students with the skills they need to succeed in modern industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive lessons that develop student's practical and theoretical skills.
- Teach across a range of Design & Technology and Catering disciplines, ensuring a well-rounded and inspiring curriculum.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving in project-based learning activities.
- Provide differentiated support to students of varying abilities to ensure all learners thrive.
- Maintain a safe and well-equipped learning environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and extracurricular opportunities.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and the wider school community to support student success.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Specialism in Design Technology, Food & Nutrition, or a related field.
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements.
- Passion for hands-on, practical learning and the ability to make lessons engaging and relevant.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A commitment to safeguarding, health & safety, and inclusive education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
