Design and Technology Teacher
Job description
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Design and Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking school in Christchurch, Dorset, starting in September 2025. The school is looking for a dynamic, creative, and passionate individual who can inspire students through the study of Design and Technology, whether on a full-time or part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Design and Technology across a range of year groups, with a focus on practical and theoretical skills.

Develop engaging and challenging lesson plans that encourage innovation and problem-solving.

Support students in developing technical knowledge, design skills, and creativity.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to promote growth.

Maintain a well-organised and safe learning environment for practical lessons.

Collaborate with colleagues to continually improve the curriculum and school initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
A qualified teacher with a degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.

Experience teaching Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS3/KS4); KS5 experience is desirable but not essential.

A passion for the subject with the ability to inspire students and encourage independent learning.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Creative and innovative in developing engaging lessons that cater to different learning styles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
