Deputy Director of Learning: Science

Position: Deputy Director of Learning: Science
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2mid
Start Date: ASAP (subject to notice period)
Location: Blackpool

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and driven science professional to join the leadership team of a thriving academy in Blackpool as Deputy Director of Learning: Science.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated science teachers, driving improvements in teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • Take a strategic approach to developing the science curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, challenging, and tailored to the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the department's progress, identifying areas for growth and implementing initiatives to secure success.
  • Support the wider leadership team to embed a culture of high expectations, innovation, and academic excellence across the school.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering exceptional teaching in science and experience in leadership or middle management. You will be a passionate advocate for high standards in education, with excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire both staff and students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
