Cover Supervisor (Unqualified Teacher) –Manchester (January 2025 Start)

Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a lively and supportive secondary school in Central Manchester. This role is a fantastic entry point for those considering a career in education or graduates eager to gain first-hand teaching experience. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll have the responsibility of managing classrooms during teacher absences, guiding students through their lessons, and ensuring an engaging and well-disciplined learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Presenting lesson plans and materials provided by teachers to ensure students stay on track
  • Maintaining a positive and productive classroom atmosphere, encouraging active participation
  • Supporting students with questions or difficulties, helping them stay engaged and complete their assignments
  • Promoting respectful behaviour and discipline, following school guidelines to create a safe space for learning

In this role, you’ll interact closely with students, teachers, and school staff, gaining valuable experience in classroom management and student engagement. Ideal for those who are new to teaching or exploring a career in education, this position enables you to develop essential skills and confidence in handling diverse classrooms. Previous experience with young people in educational or similar environments is beneficial but not required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
