Cover Supervisor required for secondary schools in Waterlooville

Are you an organised and adaptable individual interested in supporting students across a range of subjects? We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our school community in Waterlooville. The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of their regular teachers, delivering pre-set work, and maintaining a productive learning environment. This role is a great fit for individuals with strong organisational and people skills who enjoy working with young people in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across different subjects and age groups, following lesson plans provided by absent teachers.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and ensure students stay on task.
  • Promote a positive and respectful classroom environment, fostering engagement and concentration.
  • Assist students with their work as needed, answering questions and offering guidance within the lesson structure.
  • Report back on student behaviour and progress to the regular classroom teacher or appropriate school staff.

About You

We are looking for a confident and reliable individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to different classroom settings. This role is ideal for someone interested in gaining experience in education or considering a future career in teaching.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or supervisory role is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a genuine interest in supporting student development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
