Job description

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our secondary school in Stoke from Easter on a full-time, long-term basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the school by supervising classes during teacher absences. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that students remain on task and engage with pre-set learning activities while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

The ideal applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and maintain a calm and productive atmosphere. You will be expected to follow lesson plans provided by absent teachers, ensuring that students complete their work and receive appropriate support. In addition to supervising classes, you will work closely with teaching staff and the senior leadership team to ensure that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable, organized, and confident in managing groups of students across various year groups and subjects. Previous experience in a similar role or in education would be an advantage, but we are also open to applicants with a strong desire to pursue a career in education. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
