Primary Cover Supervisor
Location:
Shropshire
Contract Type: Long-term, Fixed-Term (1 Year Initially)
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: Dependent on Experience

An esteemed Multi Academy Trust, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional education and fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisor to join the staff team at one of its Shropshire schools. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to support the academic and personal development of young learners within a vibrant and supportive community.

About the Role

The Primary Cover Supervisor will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure the smooth continuation of learning in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Manage classroom behavior in line with the school's policies and ethos.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on lesson content and pupil engagement.
  • Support pupils in their learning, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported.
  • Work closely with the school’s staff to maintain high standards of education and a positive learning environment.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  1. Have experience working with primary-aged children, preferably in a classroom setting.
  2. Possess a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
  3. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Exhibit strong classroom management abilities and a calm, authoritative presence.
  5. Show adaptability and resilience to work across a range of year groups and scenarios.
  6. Hold a minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
  7. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with an understanding of relevant safeguarding protocols.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • Previous experience in a cover supervisor role.
  • A relevant teaching or education-related qualification.
  • Proficiency in supporting children with diverse learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
