Considering going into teaching and keen to gain some classroom experience? 

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for Cover Supervisors in and around the Shirley, Southampton area. Cover Supervisors take on the role of stepping in when teachers are absent, they deliver the pre-prepared work and facilitate the independent learning of the class. This is a great way into teaching, with our schools offering lots of scope for progression. Teaching Personnel can offer you that flexibility. We have part time and full-time work on offer at range of secondary schools within the Southampton area.  This role would start in the new academic year, September 2024. We can offer full time or flexible work. Start times are between 8:00 - 8:35am and finish times are from 2:40 - 3:30pm dependant on schools.

 

The roles and responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor are varied and differ between schools;however your role would typically include: 

• Getting the classroom ready for lessons 

• Delivering pre-prepared lessons in an engaging manner 

• Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks 

• Managing pupil behaviour 

• Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons 

• Carrying out administrative tasks 

 

To succeed in this role you will need to: 

• Be willing to get involved across all subjects 

• Have good behaviour management skills 

• Hold a child workforce DBS on the update service (if you do not already have one, we can help you apply)
