Job description

Role: Cover Supervisor
Location: Secondary School in Sheffield
Start Date: January 2025

A secondary school in Sheffield is looking for an organised and adaptable Cover Supervisor to manage classes in teachers' absences. This role involves overseeing student behaviour, keeping students on task, and following pre-set lesson plans. It’s an ideal position for those interested in gaining classroom experience or considering a career in teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Supervision: Manage classrooms, ensuring students stay engaged and on-task.
  • Lesson Plan Implementation: Follow lesson plans provided by teachers, helping students work through assignments and providing guidance as needed.
  • Behaviour Management: Maintain a respectful and orderly learning environment, following school policies.
  • Student Support: Answer student questions, offering clarification or additional assistance when necessary.

Requirements:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
