Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor to join a specialist SEN school in Rochdale. This role will focus on providing classroom cover and strong behaviour support for students whose behavioural needs arise as a result of their additional learning, communication, or emotional needs.

Role Details:

• Position: Cover Supervisor (Behaviour Support)

• Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester

• Start Date: ASAP

• Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (potential for permanent placement)

• Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson activities and supervising classes across a broad curriculum.

• Managing classroom behaviour effectively, supporting students whose behaviours are linked to SEN such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.

• Implementing individual support strategies to help students engage positively with learning.

• Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies are followed.

• Building strong, supportive relationships with students to promote trust, confidence, and resilience.

• Helping to create a calm, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people with SEN and behaviour needs, ideally in a school, SEN provision, or alternative education setting.

• Confident in managing challenging behaviours sensitively and effectively.

• Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive under pressure.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of students.

• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to education.
