Cover supervisor

Preston, Temporary, Part-time, Preston

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Part-Time, Temporary Cover Supervisor to join our team at a school in Preston. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for education and supporting students in their learning journey. This key function of this role is to cover teacher and teaching assistant absence across the school. There will be an expectation to deliver and support planning of lessons in the case of sickness, as well as providing pastoral support where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task.
  • Support students with their learning activities and maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Ensure students follow school rules and expectations, promoting good behaviour.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and activities.
  • Provide feedback on student behaviour and engagement to the teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively.
  • Previous experience in a school setting or as a Cover Supervisor is desirable, but not essential.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
