Teaching Personnel work closely with a number of secondary schools in the Portsmouth area that require flexible and reliable Cover Supervisors to support in the absence of regular teachers. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work opportunities that fit around their personal commitments while gaining valuable experience in a school setting.
We are looking for experienced and committed individuals who can step into a classroom environment and deliver pre-prepared lesson plans while maintaining a productive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task.

Deliver pre-set lesson plans and provide support to students as required.

Manage classroom behaviour effectively, following school policies and procedures.

Work across different subjects and year groups depending on the school’s needs.

Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership teams to ensure smooth lesson transitions.

Maintain a positive and professional approach to supporting student's learning.
Requirements:

Experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a productive learning environment.

Flexibility to work on an ad hoc basis, often at short notice.

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting work).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
