Flexible Cover Supervisor required for secondary school in Portsmouth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring that pupils remain on task with pre-set activities.

  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom.

  • Implement the school’s behaviour policy effectively, fostering a culture of respect and achievement.

  • Support the school’s mission to improve attendance and engagement among pupils.

  • Provide assistance to students with additional needs, including those with SEND and SEMH requirements.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.

  • A flexible and adaptable approach, ready to take on various classroom roles as needed.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • An understanding of the challenges facing secondary education, particularly in relation to behaviour management and student engagement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
