Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a network of secondary schools in the Fareham area, providing them with dedicated and experienced cover supervisors. These schools are seeking individuals to step in during the absence of regular class teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and supported in their learning. We have opportunities available for both day-to-day supply cover and longer-term placements, offering flexibility to suit your preferences and lifestyle. This role is ideal for individuals with previous classroom experience, recent graduates considering a teaching career, or professionals looking to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.

 

As a cover supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain on task in the absence of their usual teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Provide support and encouragement to students as they complete set work.
  • Collect completed work at the end of the lesson and return it to the appropriate staff member.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff, adapting to the unique ethos of each school.
  • Cover a variety of subjects, ensuring students have a seamless transition between lessons.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.
  • Possess strong classroom management skills.
  • Are confident and adaptable, capable of covering a range of subjects.
  • Are proactive and able to build rapport quickly with students and staff.
  • Hold a child only DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
