Cover Supervisors - Portsmouth Area

Are you looking for a flexible and rewarding role within education? Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work on an ad hoc basis across various schools in the Portsmouth area.

If you’re passionate about education and enjoy working in different school environments, this role is an excellent way to gain experience and make a positive impact!

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons and ensuring a productive learning environment during teacher absences.

This dynamic role allows you to work across different year groups and subjects, offering you variety and flexibility in your schedule.

 

Key Duties:

  • Classroom Supervision: Overseeing students in the classroom and maintaining focus on the work provided by the absent teacher.
  • Facilitating Learning: Helping students stay on track with their studies and ensuring the smooth running of lessons.
  • Behaviour Management: Encouraging good behaviour and dealing with any issues following the school’s policies.
  • General Classroom Support: Assisting with basic administrative tasks such as collecting student work and reporting on progress to teaching staff.
  • Engagement: Building positive relationships with both students and staff, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  • Flexibility: Be prepared to work on a short-term basis across a range of schools in Portsmouth.
  • Punctuality & Professionalism: Be dependable, punctual, and maintain a professional attitude throughout your assignments.
  • Versatility: Be comfortable working in a variety of year groups and subjects, adapting quickly to the needs of each school.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication with students and staff, ensuring any issues or concerns are handled effectively.
  • Experience/Qualifications: Previous experience working in schools is advantageous but not required. Strong organisational skills, confidence in managing a classroom, and a passion for supporting student development are key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
