About the Academy:
They are a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) academy in Oxford, committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with diverse learning needs. The academy supports students with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
They are seeking a confident, adaptable, and proactive Cover Supervisor to join their team. This role is essential in maintaining continuity in learning when teaching staff are absent, ensuring that students remain engaged and supported in their studies.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervising whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and follow the set lesson plans.

Managing classroom behaviour in line with the academy’s policies and fostering a positive learning environment.

Supporting students with their learning by answering questions and providing guidance where needed.

Liaising with teaching staff to ensure a smooth handover of work before and after lessons.

Assisting with administrative tasks and supporting staff with extra-curricular activities when required.

Upholding safeguarding policies and ensuring the well-being of all students.
Person Specification:
-
Previous experience working in an academy or school setting, ideally as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and engage students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and year groups.

A positive and resilient attitude with a passion for supporting students' education.

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
