Cover Supervisor – Permanent Position

Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching? A well-established secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or those with experience working with young people who are keen to step into an education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher.

  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain engaged in their learning.

  • Supporting students with their work and providing guidance where needed.

  • Liaising with teaching staff to ensure a smooth handover of lesson materials.

  • Upholding the school’s policies and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, coaching, mentoring) is desirable.

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working in a school setting.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
