Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Secondary Schools in Northamptonshire
Salary: £80 - £120 per day
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time or Part-time
Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible

Job Description:

We are seeking motivated and confident Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and would like to gain valuable classroom experience. As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that pupils remain on task with the work that has been set.

This role is ideal for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking for a new challenge. It provides insight into the workings of a school, offering invaluable experience for those considering a teaching career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher.
  • Ensure students are engaged in their learning by following the lesson plan provided.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with any queries from students regarding the lesson content.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Liaise with other school staff, such as teaching assistants, to ensure all students' needs are met.

Person Specification:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Confident, flexible, and able to adapt to different classroom environments.
  • Reliable and punctual with a professional approach to work.
  • Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • A desire to support students' learning and development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Good English and Mathematics skills.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
  • A passion for education and working with young people.
