Job description

Whether you’re a graduate, Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or an unqualified teacher with strong behaviour management skills, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in education.

We are looking for confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Leicester. This role is perfect for those with experience supporting young people who are ready to take on the challenge of leading a classroom.

About the Role:

  • Position: Cover Supervisor
  • Location: Leicester
  • Start Date: February 2024 (or sooner)
  • Contract: Full-time or part-time, depending on availability
  • Key Stages: Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and on task in the absence of their teacher. You will use your strong behaviour management skills to maintain a positive learning environment while supporting students in their studies.

✅ Unqualified Teachers – With classroom experience and the confidence to lead lessons.

✅ Individuals with Behaviour Management Experience – Such as tutors, sports coaches, or youth workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across various subjects and year groups.
  • Maintain classroom control and student engagement, following school behaviour policies.
  • Support students with their learning and ensure they remain focused on their work.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on lesson progress and student behaviour.
  • Work flexibly across different subjects and year groups.
