FUTURE TEACHERS PROGRAMME – LEICESTER (SEPTEMBER 2025 START)

Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Programme is the perfect way to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, develop your skills, and prepare for formal teacher training, all while earning a salary.

Programme Overview:
This two-year programme is ideal for graduates aspiring to a career in education. In Year 1, you’ll gain invaluable classroom experience as a Cover Supervisor. By Year 2, you’ll begin your fully funded PGCE while continuing to work in the same school.

We’re looking for individuals ready to immerse themselves in school life and commit to making a real difference in the lives of students.

Location: Leicester, LE1
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £20,000–£24,000 per annum

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supervising lessons across various subjects in the absence of teachers.
  • Supporting students in Years 7–11 with coursework, exam preparation, and engagement.
  • Gaining insights into lesson planning, behaviour management, and school policies.
  • Observing and learning from experienced teachers in your subject area and beyond.
  • Helping with extra-curricular activities and pastoral support to build meaningful relationships with pupils.
  • Transitioning to a PGCE trainee teacher in Year 2, where you’ll take full responsibility for planning and delivering lessons.
