We have an exciting part-time opportunity for a Cover Supervisor in Christchurch, working with students aged 5 to 16. Your Role as a Cover Supervisor

As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibility will be overseeing the classroom and ensuring students stay on task and engaged during lessons. You will be providing support to students with SEMH, guiding them through their learning activities and ensuring their well-being throughout the day.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain engaged

  • Providing support for SEMH students in both individual and group settings

  • Ensuring that students follow instructions and stay on task during lessons

  • Offering assistance to the classroom teacher and stepping in during their absence

  • Supporting students with their social and emotional development

Your working hours will be from 8.30am to 3.30pm, ensuring a structured day that balances teaching support with student care. You will be expected to manage classroom behaviour, keep students focused on their tasks, and provide assistance where necessary. The role requires excellent communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach to dealing with students who may face behavioural challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
