Job description

An award-winning Dorset secondary school are looking to appoint a full-time cover supervisor to provide class cover across various subjects. The school is part of a successful education partnership that strives toward outstanding standards. This would be to start in November at the beginning of the new academic year.

The school boasts a welcoming, family ethos that ensures students conduct themselves in a respectful manner. They also offer excellent career progression routes so there is potential for the right candidate to excel in this role. Train to teach opportunities are included within the exciting possibilities.

The ideal candidate will:

- Have experience in an educational setting or equivalent.

- Be an effective communicator when delivering instructions.

- Possess strong behavioural management skills.

- Be able to motivate students to reach their potential.

- Have a good level of general education.

Please note that experience in an educational setting may not be necessary if the candidate can display desirable skills that are transferrable, such as from a sporting background or other leadership positions. The main prerequisite is that one is confident speaking in front of large groups and carrying out behaviour management policies. Of course there is support from senior leaders too. Graduates looking to train to teach are particularly desirable.

Although the school are seeking a full-time cover supervisor, part time applications may also be considered if a job share can be possible.

The school is located in the central Southampton area so is easily accessible on public transport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
