Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – Specialist School (RCT)
Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf
Pay: £13 – £14 per hour (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Are You Experienced in Care & Ready to Support Learners with Complex Needs?
We are looking for a Compassionate, Experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in RCT, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, and complex medical needs.
This role requires someone confident in personal care, manual handling, and 1:1 support – ideal for candidates with a background in care, nursing, or working with vulnerable children and adults.
The Role:
✔️ Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with high-level care needs
✔️ Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
✔️ Confidently use hoists and mobility aids (manual handling training desirable)
✔️ Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and support staff
✔️ Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children/adults with complex needs
Background in care, SEN schools, residential, or supported living settings
Comfortable with personal care and manual handling (training can be provided)
Patient, resilient, and committed to making a difference
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
EWC Registration (support available)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
